VE80 Celebrations

May 8th marks the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day - the day when the Allied nations celebrated the defeat of Nazi Germany in the Second World War.

Recognising the importance of this last great commemoration of the war while we still have some of that wartime generation with us, Haven Church is marking the occasion with events that will appeal to the community and help us to appreciate the peace we enjoy in Britain today.

Cornwall in World War Two Photographic Exhibition

A vast array of photos of Gorran Haven, Mevagissey, Pentewan and across Cornwall showing life during the Second World War. Admission is free.

Wednesday 7th May 10am - 5pm

Thursday 8th May - VE Day - 10am - 9pm

Friday 9th May 10am - 5pm

VE80 Thanksgiving Service

A service remembering the sacrifice of that wartime generation to win the peace we enjoy with readings, stories and hymns from services that were held in May 1945.

Sunday 11th May 4pm - 5pm

Followed by refreshments
